May 10th 2010 Selection Tips for Rocking Chair
Wood rocking chair first made its appearance in the early 1700s in The United Kingdom. It is mainly placed as a back garden seat and since such chairs were made inside the Windsor Castle, thus the name Windsor rocker. Such chair was first brought to America in the mid 1700s and by 1800s this became the favorite piece of furniture in practically every household.
The choice of the style of rocker and the material utilized comes with consideration like where you intend to place the chair, in the house, outside on your front patio or in your backyard, the smoothness of the rocker, the comfort of the seat, the look (you may like to make sure that it complements the internal design of your home or the landscape of your garden, the kind of wooden material that you prefer (my personal preference is natural wood grains) and the price that you’re prepared to pay.
